Law and Order... the Game

My sister got me the Law and Order game for Christmas and last weekend I tried playing it for the first time. WEAK. Bad instructions. Odd play pattern. Weird. Thumbs down.

That was too bad, because it had a lot of potential. Clue for grown ups. Longest running series (except for the Simpsons!)

Too bad the game was poorly executed! The graphics on the package was good. The board (or lack there of) and playing pieces were marginal, but it was the instructions that sunk it into the depths of "DO NOT BUY".

It's manufacturered by Cardinal. Never heard of them. I wonder why the licensing team that handles Law and Order would go with Cardinal?

Law & Order

Why is it that Law & Order is such a fun show to watch? Is it the mystery? The way they tell the story? The acting?

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I sure do love to watch it. (Not the CSI version -- too gory!)

Lucky -- That Crazy Dog

Our dog Lucky is driving me crazy. Unlike our other dogs, he seems to enjoy being shocked by the electric fence. He's about 9 months old, full of energy and a very happy German Shephard mix. Our other dog, Jean, is a seven year old black lab mix and very obedient.

We got Lucky from the pound when he was only 3 weeks old. His whole litter had been abandoned by the mother when they were only 1 week old and some of his litter mates didn't survive. That's why he is LUCKY! But if we can't get the electric fence to work with him, he won't be so lucky after all. Maybe we have to go back to the white flags, walking around the perimeter training session...

Library

My library is connected to the CleveNet system, which means I can get just about any book, video, magazine etc. from any library in about 1/2 the state. What a tremendous resource!

I stopped over there yesterday and picked up 2 books on cd, 2 magazines & 3 books. All the my requests are delivered to the local library, I just have to go pick them up.

My kind of Art

I don't know a lot about art... but I know what I like. Usually my tastes are more simple, like scenes in a house or scenic wooded area. However, this crazy painting spoke to me. It's from an artist in Cleveland. I guess it's the vibrant colors and the wonderful shapes.

Somehow it seems joyful and alive. It looks like it would be hanging a jazz and blues bar somewhere in New Orleans.
